Nice Nails with Jamberry

Hey Guys!

As I'm slowly getting back into this blogging business, I'm starting to try and find more people to collab with. Today I'm working with Laila, a Jamberry independent consultant. She sent me some snazzy samples and I'm gonna show you how easy they are to use! I mean if I can't even mess this up, the odds are in your favour!

Jamberry is the Aladdin's cave of nail products, including do-it-yourself nail wraps. With the prettiest of designs, products that are in it for the long haul and prices that won't send you into your overdraft, what more could you want? Oh a tutorial and review... Well, yeah, sure I can help with that!

I've decided to try one of the lovely samples and put it through the seven day challenge. I'm not gonna lie, I've started on the hardest day with hair washing, tyre pressure checking, baking and washing up all happening today. But if the nail wraps can make it through today they'll fly through the rest of the week!

I've chosen to road test the middle striped design, against a regular Model's Own nail polish. I've put each competitor on either hand and let battle commence. But how did I get here? Laila sent everything I'd need to preen my nail for a striped accent design. After attending to any cuticle sitch and buffing your nail, clean with an alcohol wipe.

Then warm up your chosen Jamberry nail wrap with a hair drier, or I used the oven- works the same right? Once flexible stick onto your nail and rub down into place. Apply a gentle heat and rub again until all the bumps are gone.

Simply trim off any excess and file to neaten up the edges, and voila! You've got yourself an intricate nail design in literally seconds! (plz don't judge me for the gel nail growth, #stillcutetho)

I'll check back in with you next week to let you know how I got on...

7 DAY UPDATE:

So first thing you'll see is that the Jamberry nail wrap outlasted 3 week old gel nails, which is always a plus (that'll teach me for being really lazy and not taking them off before started this!)! There was one time I started picking at the nail wrap because it felt like another gel nail, but a quick zap with the hair dryer smoothed it right down. Good sign it felt like solid gel nail though, right?!

The pale blue nail polish on my other hand actually lasted so much better than nail polish normally does for me. So although it only has minimal chipping, it had gone all cracked and kind dirty around the tips. I think that's because my nails are so weak and bendy and the nail polish just wasn't made to flex like that!

If you're desperate to see you can click on the images for closer inspection. But just take my word that the Jamberry nail wrap was here to stay and I reckon could have done longer than 7 days actually!

Forever Enchanted

Hey Guys!

So I might have taken these photos all the way back in March when the actual Beauty and the Beast film came out... But now the DVD has just come out so, y'know, #stillrelevant! This Disney inspired slogan top is from Minkpink on ASOS. They had a whole Beauty and the Beast collection of items that were actually #goals. I totally heart eye emoji'd over the yellow lace dress that was mean to reflect Belle's yellow ballgown. But I kept my spending in check and just got this slogan tee. I don't have many basic style tees, where as I have enough dresses to style a nation! Sometimes I'll wear this top with a gingham midi skirt which is a girlier way to style it up.

I wouldn't usually wear a bejazzled bandana around my neck on a regular trip to the river, but it adds a little edge to this otherwise simple outfit. FYI, the jeans are ASOS own brand and they are sooo comfy and fit & flatter like a dream. Yeah buddy!

Uh-huh, Hun-ey

Hey Guys!

I've now done a full year in my very first full time office job, and have decided Summer is the hardest time for a smart-caj vibe. I've given up and just go full blown caj. I have 100% flashed the buns and the butt to most of my co-workers by accident on more than one occasion. I can't help it- I'm use less in this heat!

One thing I do reach for on sticky summer days are my culottes. This pretty polka pair look great with an off-the-shoulder tee (I'm not and never will be ready to give up this trend!). This striped number is from Warehouse and the cuff details are just that extra little summin' summit' I crave in a 'smart' look so I don't blend into the crowd.

Wink Back

Hey Guys!

I've only gone and cracked out the double denim again, #sorrynotsorry! When worn with this slouchy slogan jump, I'm feeling some mega 80's vibes with this look. To match this I also gave a generous wash of pink eyeshadow to my lids, but kept the frizzy ringlets pulled back. I wasn't 100% ready to dedicate myself to the era!

The jumper is an ASOS find from the Pull & Bear stock. It's got airy bell style sleeves and an elasticated hem, so you can wear it loose or fitted. Pretty nifty, right? I pulled it tight and folded it underneath itself to hide the gathered fabric.

Read My Slogan

Hey Guys!

I don't want to peak too early, but I think I've found my hero item for this summer! This gingham skirt is the stuff of dreams with the graphic print and lightweight, swishy fabric. The shape is wide and circular with a paper bag-effect waist. I've swapped out the fabric belt that it came with for a tan belt which is a neutral tone to bring the bright top and dark skirt together.

I've rolled up the sleeves on the t-shirt because it was a little too baggy for me. But I think the wide sleeves balance with the wide shape of the skirt. I'm not usually one for any sort of print on a top, but I think slogan tops are so cool right now! I'm easing myself into the trend with this vivid yellow one, haha!

Embroider Me

Hey Guys!

You could throw anything with the slightest detail of embroidery at me, and I would put it on in a heartbeat! I'm not one to accessorise with patches and actually up-cycle something myself (#lazy!), but if it comes with a dashing sewn on floral design it's all mine. Tucking any top into mom jeans (these ones are a Glamourous find) is always a good idea and off the shoulder tops look great with EVERYTHING. Am I right? For a smart, city style, roll up your jeans and pair with a heeled something. This tone of blue is screaming to be worn with a chunky tan belt and this one from Next is going to last me a lifetime. It matches my Kylie Lip Kit (Ginger in case you were wondering!) perfectly.

Doused in Denim

Hey Guys!

There are three Spring Summer trends I am all about this season. Embroidery, Gingham and Denim are the only terms I'm searching during my regular online window shopping breaks. This look I've dared to flaunt a little serving of double denim. Personally, I am 100% here for double denim. Splitting the outfit into a light half and dark half is the way to ease your unconvinced self into the trend. It's when we start limiting the look to one blue and adding rips, frays & a denim cowboy hat we start straying Justin and Britney territory. But then again, why wouldn't you want to do that because that golden couple were #goalz, before it was even a thing!

I kept hair and make up super simple for this sunny day. Of course, I've covered my fave in Kylie Jenner products à la the Ginger lip kit and her holiday palette on the eyes.

Aye, Aye Sailor!

Hey Guys!

This springtime sunshine has got me like, 'yaaaaasss, let's go take some blog photos!'

Here's a little taster of what I wear to work. I started my first, like, actual real life, adult job about 9 months ago. It's your regular 9 to 5 in an office in London so it's a little different from bundling around theatre group in a princess tiara! This outfit is one of my plainer looks, I have to admit. But I'm feeling like a chic Parisian sailor and I like it! Before you ask, no it's not a fake tan accident. It's a 'balls, I can't find any tights and I've got to go in 5. Ah, these will do' kinda accident! My trainers are from Bershka and were a snippet of the price compared to Adidas Originals. #gottaloveadiscount

Now that I'm growing my fringe out, these centre partings are SO much easier to do with a little hairspray and a few handy grips. Of course I'm wearing Kylie Cosmetics on my lips in Mary Jo K. If you've seen my Instagram you'll know I HEART a Kylie Lip Kit (or two)!
